do you remember
Do you remember,
the days of childhood
playing dress up in your memma's attic
dreaming of days when we would be grownups
you wrapped up in yards of lace
adorned with trinkets and baubles,
making your pretty face
Do you remember,
the days of playing house
you the mom and I the dad
the imaginary children we had
I would pretend to read the newspaper
and smoke a pipe
you would bake cassaroles that the kids
wouldn't like.
Do you remember,
the afghan castle that took all day to build
the picket fence sword I used to weild
the way you would faint in lady like distress
as I would gallop to your defence
as I look though this album filled with you,
I do.

Now this is GORGEOUS writing. Afghan castle, picket fence/sword--and its lyrical and dreamlike and it flows beautifully. "wrapped up in yards of lace..." Excellent! You are talented! I absolutely love this; best i've read yet on hubpages
